• WCU'S Half Frame Festival: On April 9, 2007, Laura Poitras screened her Academy Award-nominated documentary My Country, My Country at WCU. She joined regional documentary filmmakers in a day of workshops, panels, lectures, and screenings.

• Southern Circuit. A touring program showcasing and supporting independent filmmakers. The film series provides the opportunity for filmmakers to travel throughout the Southeast with their works and screen them to new audiences. WCU sponsors these screenings at the Fine Arts in Asheville. http://www.state.sc.us/arts/circuit/

• Full Frame Documentary Film Festival (Durham, NC). The premier documentary film festival in the United States, Full Frame is a place where top documentary filmmakers such as Ken Burns, Martin Scorcese and Michael Moore showcase their work in an environment that stimulates conversation and community between other filmmakers, industry executives and the general public. WCU is a participant; our students attend as special delegates, and the festival sends filmmakers to WCU to screen and discuss their work. http://www.fullframefest.org/
