Motion Picture & Television Production (MPTP) Program
The Motion Picture and television industry has changed more in the last fifteen years than they have in the previous sixty. With broadband, Hi-def cameras and affordable post-production software available to all, the digital revolution has democratized and decentralized the field. How do you survive in this brave new world?

The Motion Picture & Television Production B.F.A. program prepares you to succeed by teaching the art, craft, and history of motion pictures, as well as the most up-to-date technologies, presented by faculty with the highest level of industry experience.

In a changing world, our focus is on the one skill that doesn't change: how to tell a story on a screen - the screen at your Cineplex, on your television, on computer, cell phone, or screens to come - in an entertaining and original way.

Please note that all students must apply and be accepted into the MPT program. Entering freshmen may declare MPT as their major, but must then apply and be accepted into the program during their first year in order to continue in the program in their sophomore year. Click here for the online application.

"This program is the whole reason I came to WCU.
[T]he potential is incredible for this program
and the students in it. The sky is the limit."
