Dates & Deadlines
Western Carolina University will evaluate each undergraduate freshman and transfer application once your application and other required documents (official transcripts, scores, etc.) have been received by the Office of Admission. You must submit your application at least 30 days before the beginning of the semester in which you wish to enroll.
In addition, there are many important admission, financial aid, and scholarship dates to be aware of. Here are some of them:
August 15: Decisions for Freshman and Transfer applications will be mailed when student folders are complete.
September 1: International student application deadline for Spring Term.
November 15: Freshman Early Action application deadline for Fall Term 2009. Decisions will be mailed by December 15.
November 15: Transfer student application deadline for Spring Term.
February 1: Priority consideration deadline for freshman merit-based scholarships.
February 1: Regular Action I Freshman application deadline for Fall Term 2009. Decisions will be mailed by March 1.
March 1: Regular Action II Freshman application deadline for Fall Term 2009. Decisions will be mailed by April 1.
March 15: Priority financial aid deadline to apply for federal loans and need-based grants.
April 1: The Financial Aid Office begins mailing award notifications.
April 1: International student application deadline for Fall Term.
April 1: Priority consideration deadline for Transfer student merit-based scholarships.
April 15: Freshman and Transfer student summer application deadline.
May 1: Freshman and Transfer tuition deposit deadline for Fall Term 2009.
June 1: Transfer student application deadline for Fall Term 2009.
