Distance Program Admission
WCU was founded with the mission to spread education throughout the state of North Carolina. Because of that goal, you'll find education options to fit every situation:

Online degree programs
Off-site learning centers
Military education

Admission to a distance learning program is not guaranteed.  The admission process involves two discrete steps. Students first apply to Western Carolina University and following admission to WCU, their application to the distance learning program and their credentials are forwarded (2nd step) from the Office of Admission to the appropriate academic department.

WCU programs are highly competitive, and often require application and admission to Western Carolina University (the first step) as much as a year in advance of planned attendance.   Apply early – seats for Spring 2010 are filling up fast.

To register for online or off-site programs, you'll need to complete the undergraduate application or graduate application. Instructions are available on the Registrar’s website.

Contact the Division of Educational Outreach for further details on programs, advisers, registration, and more.
