“Party Foods: 1920s Style” will be the topic of an Arti-Facts! program for children on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Western Carolina University’s Mountain Heritage Center.
Set for 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., the program will examine fun foods of the 1920s. The early 1900s was an era of increased commercial food production, with popular items such as Moon Pies, Kool-Aid, Wonder Bread and popsicles hitting the shelves.
The program also will provide a chance for participants to check out the museum’s temporary exhibit, “After the War: Conflict and Domestic Change in the North Carolina Mountains.”
Designed for children ages 6 through 12, Arti-Facts! programs explore the region’s natural and cultural heritage. Attendance is free, but reservations are required. Parents are invited to attend with their children
For reservations or more information, call the Mountain Heritage Center at (828) 227-7129.
