The Almanac provides comprehensive links and background information on major U.S. public policy issues.  Covers a wide range of issues from child abuse and child care to homelessness, poverty, and social security.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA)
The CFDA is a compendium of programs, projects, services, and activities offered by the federal government.  It serves as the basic reference source to federal assistance programs.

Department of Health & Human Services
The Department of Health & Human Services is the U.S. government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services.  Among its many programs and agencies are:
- Administration on Aging (AoA)
The AoA administers a range of programs that offer services and opportunities for older Americans.
- Administration for Children and Families (ACF)
The ACF is responsible for federal programs that promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities. There are links to a wide range of topics, such as Head Start, Child Welfare, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
The OSHA is the department of the U.S. government with the responsibility to ensure safety and healthful work environments.

Social Security Administration
Information available on retirement, disability, survivors and supplemental security income benefits.
