Zebulon Weaver (1872-1948) was a lawyer and U.S. Representative from western North Carolina.  After serving in both the North Carolina house and senate (1907-1909 and 1913-1915), he was elected as a Democrat to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1917.  He was defeated in 1928, but was re-elected in 1930 and served until 1946.  The collection includes materials on Weaver's involvement in establishing the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and development of the Blue Ridge Parkway, including the purchase of lands.  Weaver's correspondence concerns veterans affairs, postal affairs, the House Judiciary Committee, and regional political matters.
