WCU is a University of North Carolina Campus

Leadership & Involvement
The WCU residence halls offer plenty of opportunities to get involved through student leadership roles, including:

Resident Student Association

Consisting of members of each residence hall council, the RSA looks for ways to improve the quality of residence hall life through policy review and recommendations, planned programs and activities, and service to the campus community. RSA members also represent WCU at state, regional, and national residence hall conferences. Students interested in residence life activities are welcome to attend RSA meetings. Contact a staff member or call the Department of Residential Living for more information.

Residence Hall Council

The RHC includes elected officers and representatives from each floor or wing and is actively involved in planning and implementing hall programs and activities, as well as addressing issues affecting the welfare of residents of the building. Talk with your residence hall staff regarding your interest and watch for ways to get involved. Joining an RHC is a great way to meet and make new friends!

Omega Chi Upsilon—National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

Omega Chi Upsilon is the WCU Chapter of the NRHH, and is affiliated with the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Inc. The purpose of NRHH is to provide recognition for the residence hall students who have demonstrated outstanding service and leadership in the advancement of the residence hall system. One percent of the residence hall population is inducted into the NRHH annually.

Residence Hall Programs and Activities

Your residence hall staff and residence life organizations will offer programs and activities for your floor and hall throughout the year. The programs range from social and recreational events to service and community projects and from educational programs on current topics to hall-improvement activities. If you have a program idea for the residence hall, see your resident assistant or contact your head resident, resident director, or area coordinator.

Residence Life Cinema

Residents of residential living facilities have access to a movie channel on channel 75 on the campus cable network. The channel provides movies for on-campus students. The films are selected by students and staff, and they change on a monthly basis. You may have the opportunity to serve on the selection committee by contacting the University Center at 7206 and letting them know you are interested.
