Degree Offered: Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.), Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)

Program Description: Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Physical Education is designed to enable students holding degrees other than education degrees to study in selected teaching programs at the graduate or advanced level. Pending satisfactory completion of state-required licensure examinations, the program leads to a recommendation for an advanced license from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) in Physical Education is designed for individuals with a teaching certificate that seek advance licensure in Physical Education. Pending satisfactory completion of state-required licensure examinations, the program leads to a recommendation for an advanced license from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

    • Three letters of recommendation
    • M.A.Ed. applicants must hold or be eligible for the North Carolina "A" license in physical education.
