While still in college, R.P. worked for many Broadway theatrical productions in backstage and front office capacities. He was company manager for the Kennedy Center, Kermit Bloomgarden, Roger Stevens, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Joffrey Ballet, and many others. After eight years in the theatre he became a member of The Directors' Guild of America as an assistant director through their training program. For the last thirty-five years he has worked as an assistant director, production manager, or line producer for movies such as Pee Wee's Big Adventure, The Breakfast Club and Vacation and for TV shows such as 24, The West Wing, China Beach, and many others. R.P. has taught film production at UCLA, The American Film Institute, Cal Arts, and The Columbia School of Art in Chicago.
