The New York Times calls Jason Robert Brown's cutting-edge musical “smart, witty, moving, [and] musically complex.” Another critic raved, “the show captures some of the most heartbreaking and universally felt moments of modern romance." With a cast of only two performers, The Last Five Years is a love story uniquely told. At the beginning of the show a woman travels backwards in time—from divorce to first passing an enticing stranger on the street. At the same time, the man moves forward—beginning with the excitement of a new love and ending in heartache. Watch as some of our finest young performers rise to the challenge of this theatrical tour de force.
New York stage director Amy Jones brings this haunting, contemporary story to life in the intimate setting of the black box theatre at the Fine and Performing Arts Center. See for yourself what the critics are raving about!
