Degree Offered: Master of Science (M.S.)

Program Description: This is a 36 semester-hour program (12 courses--6 required and 6 elective) preparing individuals for leadership roles in a variety of human-resource related professions, including human resource management and external consulting. The program offers courses in both blended and distance learning formats. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of theories and professional practice models in the work place. Part-time students can complete the program in 2 1/2 years.

Required Standardized Test: GRE General Exam

Minimum Admissions Requirements: Minimum GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work and a minimum combined GRE score of 900 on the verbal and quantitative and 3.5 on the analytical.

Additional Admissions Criteria: Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation and possess good computer skills (i.e., use of Microsoft Office and the World Wide Web).

Application Deadline: April 1st (fall semester enrollment) and November 1st (spring semester enrollment)

Prerequisites: None

Number of Graduate Faculty: Two plus 10 others from several departments

Number of Students: 50  

Location of Course Offerings: All courses are available online.  Most courses are offered on-site in Asheville.
