“We are delighted to have Ramona Whichello join the WCU School of Nursing faculty,” said Linda Seestedt-Stanford, dean of WCU’s College of Health and Human Sciences. “Her experience as both a nurse and high-level administrator complement the objectives of our nurse administration master’s program. She will play an integral part in building that program and assuring quality online offerings.”
Whichello (pictured at right) received a diploma in nursing from Presbyterian Hospital’s School of Nursing in 1980, graduated from WCU in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and earned her master’s degree in nursing from Emory University in 1991. She served for 10 years as the vice president-nurse executive for Mission Hospital and four years as nurse executive for St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Whichello also has held positions as director of oncology, clinical nurse specialist and staff nurse. She is an elected board member of the North Carolina Board of Nursing, serving as its vice chair, and also is the bylaws chair for the North Carolina Organization for Nurse Leaders.
