Graduate TaskStream Policy
Policies for Graduate Students Regarding TaskStream

Beginning with the Spring 2008 semester, the College of Education and Allied Professions is implementing the following policies regarding the use of TaskStream software for graduate students. The policies are adopted by the College of Education and Allied Professions Leadership Council (9/7/2007) and are administered by the Dean of the College of Education and Allied Professions.

The rationale for the policies is improvement of the assessment practices for graduate programs in the College of Education and Allied Professions. The policies have been discussed by the WCU Professional Education Council, in departments within the college, at meetings of graduate faculty in the college, and in the Assessment Committee of the College.

  1. Students in the MAT in Comprehensive Education.

All students in the MAT in Comprehensive Education are required to maintain a current subscription to TaskStream and be enrolled in the applicable WCU folios. They will be required to submit selected course assignments and other requirements including the Comprehensive Portfolio through the TaskStream software. Selected course assignments and other requirements including the Comprehensive Portfolio designated for submission through TaskStream will not be accepted through other means.
  2. Students in the MAEd in Comprehensive Education.

All students in the MAEd in Comprehensive Education are required to maintain a current subscription to TaskStream and be enrolled in the applicable WCU folios. They will be required to submit selected course assignments and other requirements including the Comprehensive Portfolio through the TaskStream software. Selected course assignments and other requirements including the Comprehensive Portfolio designated for submission through TaskStream will not be accepted through other means.
  3. Students in selected courses.

All students, regardless of major or degree status, enrolled in any of the following courses are required to have a current TaskStream subscription and to submit designated assignments through TaskStream software: EDCI 602, 604, 605, 613, 617; PSY 621, 624; SPED 620. Exempted students include those in Community College Administration, Community College Teaching, College Student Personnel, and students in specific international programs (e.g., Jamaica).
  4. Students in other courses or other programs.

Programs within the College of Education and Allied Professions may designate assignments in other courses and other requirements that must be submitted through TaskStream. When programs designate courses that have assignments that must be submitted through TaskStream or other requirements that must be submitted through TaskStream, the program is responsible for communicating the requirements to students.
  5. Comprehensive Portfolio Requirements.

Comprehensive Portfolios for the MAT and MAEd will be submitted only through TaskStream beginning with Spring 2008. Common assignments for EDCI 602; EDCI 604 or 605 or 613; PSY 621 or 624; SPED 620 must be submitted as part of the portfolio. Consistent with the guidelines for the Comprehensive Portfolio, the student will choose additional artifacts to demonstrate attainment of the Advanced Competencies.
