Western Carolina University’s Office of Career Services will be hosting a career poster night from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Ramsey Center concourse on Western’s campus.
First-year college students involved in a career exploration seminar will present their research on selected majors, personal goals and prospective careers.
“By exploring their interests, abilities and values, by deeply examining their choice of majors and careers, and by thinking about both curricular and co-curricular ways to achieve their goals, students will be synthesizing their experiences at Western and better prepared when they graduate,” said J. Michael Despeaux, career services coordinator and career counselor at WCU.
The career poster night will be similar to a career fair, so the presentations will be visual and beneficial to other Western students and high school students exploring major and career choices, Despeaux said.
The event will include light refreshments, and student researchers will be on hand to answer questions.
The event is free and open to the public.
