Local telephone service is provided in each residence hall room. Residents are required to bring their own telephone. One telephone jack is located in each residence hall room. Semester room rent includes local telephone service to the University, Cullowhee, Cashiers, and Sylva areas.
How do I make a Long Distance call?
Long Distance service is not provided and in order to make a long distance call from the Residence Halls students must use cell phones, a pre-paid calling card, or a long distance calling plan that you access by dialing a toll-free number.
What if I decide to bring a cell phone to campus?
When selecting a calling plan please make sure that there is coverage for the Jackson county and Cullowhee, NC area. Verizon Wireless currently has the most extensive coverage in this area.
