Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Committee on Student Learning is to promote the integrated use of University resources for the holistic development of students. The Committee will coordinate programs and make recommendations to senior administration, designed to create a “seamless” learning environment at Western Carolina University.

Objectives:

• Strengthen the collaborative relationship between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
• Promote principles and practices of effective student learning across the campus community.
• Integrate distinctive educational opportunities and experiences to enrich and enhance the learning process, deepen understanding of real-life applications, and enhance career preparation.
• Increase and enhance opportunities for faculty-student communication and interaction outside the classroom.
• Support the institutional mission of service and engagement.
