The Western Carolina University Police Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality law enforcement and crime prevention services to our campus community. However, as with any law enforcement agency, our officers cannot be everywhere at once. It is vital to the safety of our campus community that students and police officers work together to prevent, detect, and solve crimes. Our department has dedicated one of our officers to work with students in helping you learn how to take responsibility for protecting yourself and your property. Officer Bruce Barker has received specialized training and is prepared to work with you. Officer Barker is assigned to the Residence Life office in Scott Hall where he may be contacted at 828.227.3207. In addition to Officer Barker, all of our officers are available to assist you. Our department shares your concern for your safety and welfare, and we are ready to serve you 24 hours a day throughout the year.
