Teacher Recruitment at Western Carolina University serves as the sponsoring unit for the Mu Eta Chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education (KDP). The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi is to recognize scholarship and to enhance professional development among education majors, including students majoring in Communication Disorders, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Initiation requirements include a 3.0 GPA for undergraduates, along with formal admission to an education program, and an established record of excellence in their course of study. The College of Education and Allied Professions is pleased to announce the 2010 Initiation for the Mu Eta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi. Invitations to students who are eligible to join the Honor Society in Education were sent via email during the week of October 25th. Included with the invitation were the Chapter Initiation Registration Form and the Permission for Photo and News Release Form. Eligible students who wish to join KDP should return these forms, as well as a check made payable to Kappa Delta Pi in the amount of $58.00 (for dues and the initiation fee) to the Dean's Office in Killian 222 by 5pm on November 11, 2010.
