At WCU, you’ll find many ways to make a difference. Through the Center for Service Learning, we offer programs for students who wish to participate in community service and link it to classroom experience, including Alternative Spring Break. You can also take advantage of the many volunteer opportunities posted through this department.

Adult Learners Student Organization (ALSO)                                                                                                             
As a support group for nontraditional students, ALSO provides activities and resources for beginning and returning adult students, transfer students, mature students, and students with children.

Alpha Phi Omega—Petitioning Group
WCU’s chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a national co-ed fraternity devoted to community service and civic fellowship, brings fellowship, leadership, and service to its campus, community, and nation. Contact Myria Ashdown at MA34169@wcu.edu.

Epsilon Tau Pi 
The only fraternity in the United States that is exclusively for Eagle Scouts, Epsilon Tau Pi is dedicated to helping scouting and the community by volunteering its members’ skills and assets.

NC Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Student Affiliate Organization (NCTM)
This organization promotes the profession of teaching mathematics by providing opportunities that will assist students in becoming exemplary teachers. Contact Christa Conner at CC37261@wcu.edu.

National Pan-Hellenic Council 
The National Pan-Hellenic Council strives for unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek collegiate fraternities and sororities, and pursues mutual interests of its member organizations.

Relay 4 Life—American Cancer Society  
Relay 4 Life is a student-led fundraiser that brings together faculty, staff, students, and the community to celebrate life and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
 
The College Association for the Advancement of All People 
This association is committed to the cause of civil rights and justice for all. Members work to ensure fair practices not only on the campus of WCU, but within the nation, one step at a time. Contact LaToya Sutton at latoya_sutton@yahoo.com.

WCU—Society for Animal Welfare 
The mission of this society is to educate the WCU community about animal rights and welfare and provide support and encouragement for the proper care and welfare of animals. Contact Abby Hinshaw at wcuanimalluvr@hotmail.com.

WCU EMS 
WCU EMS provides the most up-to-date and compassionate emergency medical care to any student in need on the campus of Western Carolina University. Contact David Stossmeister at chiefwcuems@yahoo.com.

WCU EnTOURage
WCU EnTOURage is an elite group of students selected to represent WCU and assist the Office of Admissions with its new student-recruitment initiatives.
